Prompting fundamentals
Write effective prompts to get the most out of whichever model you choose.
Model Selection
Primio offers multiple AI models with different strengths. Click the model selector button (shows the current model name) in the input area to switch models at any time during a conversation.
Available models
Section titled “Available models”Auto (default)
Section titled “Auto (default)”Automatically selects the best model based on your prompt. This is the recommended choice for most users — Primio picks the model that best fits each specific request.

Claude Opus 4.6
Section titled “Claude Opus 4.6”The most capable model. Produces the highest-quality code and the best UI designs. Use it when the task is complex or when visual quality matters most.
- Best for complex apps, multi-screen navigation, and custom UI
- Strongest UI design capability
- Uses the most tokens per interaction
- Supports Design Library
- Available on paid plans only
Claude Sonnet 4.6
Section titled “Claude Sonnet 4.6”A balanced choice between speed and intelligence. Handles most features well without the higher token cost of Opus.
- Good for medium-complexity features and iterative refinement
- Moderate token usage
- Available on paid plans only
Benchmark dimensions
Section titled “Benchmark dimensions”The model selector shows four progress bars for each model:

| Token Usage | How many tokens each interaction costs (lower bar = fewer tokens = cheaper) |

These benchmarks are based on Anthropic’s published model evaluations and Primio’s internal testing.
When to use each model

Free plan limitations
Section titled “Free plan limitations”Free plan users can only use Auto mode. Upgrade to Build, Grow, or Scale for direct access to specific models.

Design Library compatibility
Section titled “Design Library compatibility”The Design Library is only available when using Auto or Claude Opus 4.6. If you select Sonnet, the Design Library option won’t appear in the attachments menu.
Your selection persists
Section titled “Your selection persists”The model you choose is saved and persists across sessions. You don’t need to reselect it each time you open Primio. Switch whenever your needs change.
